Study Abroad
Explore the world as an NCU student.
Christian Scholarship Around the World
North Central University is committed to fostering a multicultural community and preparing students to model God’s love throughout the world. As an NCU student, you will have a host of opportunities to expand your cultural perspectives while engaging in Christian scholarship through study abroad. Earn credits and embark on once-in-a-lifetime learning experiences with our partners at Center for Holy Land Studies and through our membership with the Council for Christian Colleges & Universities (CCCU).
Because these programs are not run by NCU, they may have different costs from a typical NCU semester, such as travel expenses, which are subject to change. Whether or not this raises your costs while living away from NCU campus, your financial aid will still apply, making it more affordable to pursue your goals in an exciting and immersive program.

CCCU GlobalEd Programs
North Central University is proud to participate in the CCCU GlobalEd program, offered by the Council for Christian Colleges & Universities (CCCU). These study abroad opportunities are available to NCU students through our membership in the CCCU. Choose from three programs and a wide range of academic subjects to gain hands-on learning experience and take on new cultural perspectives alongside students from other Christian colleges across the U.S.

FAQs
Can I study abroad if it is not required for my major?
You can study abroad even if it’s not required for your major! That said, spaces are limited, and students who need to study abroad to satisfy graduation requirements may take priority in some cases. Studying abroad may affect your graduation timeline, however, so please be sure you talk through your credit options and make a plan with your advisor and possibly the Registrar before applying to study abroad.
Do I need a student visa to study abroad?
Student visa requirements depend on the location of the program you participate in and its duration. Generally, programs outside the U.S. that are shorter than 90 days long do not require a student visa, but you will likely need to acquire a tourist visa. This has been the case for students in the three-week Holy Lands program. For programs 90 days or longer, such as the CCCU GlobalEd programs, consult with your study abroad coordinator.
I got accepted to study abroad! What’s next?
Congratulations! Once you’ve been accepted, you will receive information about next steps from the organization that offers your program. They will advise you of any required forms or course selections you need to provide and help you prepare for the culture and climate of your destination. If you are attending a program outside the U.S. for more than 90 days, it is very likely that you will also need to acquire a student visa. NCU faculty and staff are also available to support your preparation and transition to an exciting new semester.
Does NCU offer any other study abroad options?
NCU strives to provide ample intercultural and international learning opportunities to our students. Study abroad options are subject to change, so if you are interested in a program or region that is not listed on our website, please don’t hesitate to ask a study abroad coordinator about your options.
