In person ceremony

While many universities have chosen or will choose not to hold in-person commencement ceremonies this spring, we feel it is important to do so. We look forward to celebrating our graduates in-person. Please rest assured that we will provide a safe experience and one that complies with all local and state regulations.

Order your cap/gown

Each graduate will need to order their cap and gown using this link.  All graduates need to select NCU as the ship-to location. The site is ready to start taking orders as of March 1, 2021.

*NOTE: Caps and gowns must be ordered no later than April 11th in order for them to arrive on time.

Application for degree conferral

If you have not already applied for graduation in Colleague Self Service please email Tiffani Wollum immediately.

Application for commencement participation

Whether you plan to participate in-person or virtually, all graduates who wish to participate in Commencement must complete the Application for Commencement Participation form and provide the required information. Without it, you will not be allowed to participate.

The form will ask for the following information:

  • Correct contact information:
    • For you to receive vital correspondence prior to Commencement
    • For sending your diploma on or after June 1, 2021.
  • RSVP to attend in-person ceremony

Photograph for commencement

Every graduate is asked to send in a photograph for use during the celebration—even if you are unable to attend in person. Please attach your photo to the Formstack for Commencement Participation below. Here are the requirements for the photos:

    • Landscape (wide) view
    • Headshot only – from just below shoulders to top of head
    • Centered photo
    • Full or original size

Virtual experience

A virtual Commencement experience will be made available for graduates unable to attend the in-person ceremony, as well as for friends and family. Specific information about the virtual option will be sent via email.

CDC guidelines required

CDC guidelines will be in effect and are observed for in-person Commencement attendance. Here are the requirements:

    • Admittance will not be allowed for anyone exhibiting any of the symptoms of COVID-19 as outlined by the CDC, or if they do not feel well.
    • Prior to attendance, all graduates must check in on the #CampusClear app and take the survey. Alternatively, use this web form. Graduates will be required to display the green “Cleared for campus access” screen for entrance to the church.
    • Approved face coverings are required for entry and must be worn at all times while on the church campus. In addition, all graduates and guests must practice social distancing.

At this time, due to limitations related to COVID-19, guests of graduates unfortunately will not be permitted to attend the Commencement ceremony in person. They will be able to view the ceremony via livestream.

Please continue to watch your email for more details in the days ahead from the Office of Academic Affairs. You can also find up-to-date commencement information on this page. If you have questions about any of these details, please email the Commencement Committee.
