Being part of the community around North Central University is an irreplaceable piece of our student experience. Since our founding in 1930, we have made it a priority to serve our neighbors and build trusting, long-term relationships with individuals, families, churches, and businesses. We are part of downtown Minneapolis, and downtown is part of NCU.

While you’re here, you’ll have opportunities to experience community life, develop your leadership and ministry skills, and gain a better understanding of the needs of the world around you, all while working to make our community a better place.

We partner with community groups to offer a variety of group or individual service opportunities. Each year, we observe our Won’t You Be My Neighbor? Day by serving our community beyond campus. In January and September, the Opportunities Fair is a great way to connect with local churches and service organizations and find a place to live your calling. This event helps students and community groups plan their volunteer and service projects going into each new semester.

For students called to ministry — or are curious about ministry vocations — NCU is a great place to pursue that calling with supportive mentors and peers. Consider joining a ministry team, leading a small group in your residence hall, or connecting with a local church as a volunteer or intern. We all have God-given gifts to share in service on campus and beyond.
