Spiritual Life
Define and refine your faith.
Strengthen Your Faith and Follow Your Calling
At North Central University, our mission is to prepare students to fulfill biblical models of leadership and ministry throughout the world. This guides our commitment to providing ample opportunities to develop and follow your God-given calling.
Spiritual life is a major part of the NCU student experience because we want you to become a passionate Christ-follower in addition to a scholar in the classroom and a leader in the marketplace. When you graduate, you’ll be prepared to minister, serve, and lead, wherever you’ve been called.
On campus and in the community, you’ll have the spaces and support you need to define and refine your faith as you deepen your relationship with God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Chapel
Daily chapel services at NCU are central to our campus community and culture. Led by our talented, passionate worship teams, chapel is one of the highlights of the day as students, faculty, and staff join together to praise our Lord. Attending chapel is a requirement for all students.
Some days you may just soak it in. Other days you may be in the front row worshiping with everything you have. Every day, it’s a chance to grow in your faith, reflect on your relationship with God, and renew your spirit for the day ahead.
Students enrolled in online classes are welcome to attend chapel virtually or on site if they live locally. Subscribe to our channels on YouTube and iTunes Podcasts to view or listen whenever the Spirit leads. Watch past chapel services on our YouTube channel!
RENDER
Within chapel services, NCU encourages students to gain real-world experience and training in worship leadership. On select days, you’ll experience a fully student-led chapel service facilitated by the student organization RENDER. This takes place at the same time as the main chapel service.
RENDER is a chance for students to take charge of the chapel experience and minister to one another. Taking place on most Mondays each semester, RENDER is a unique opportunity for students to lead in all aspects of a chapel experience, from coordinating and planning the services, to participating on worship teams and preaching. Students from all majors are actively involved.
RENDER’s Mission
To reach, teach, and empower the North Central community by:
- Sharing relevant messages.
- Taking part in immersing worship.
- Fostering a passionate prayer life with fellow students.
- Further equipping students to go out and fulfill God’s call for their lives.
I love the Holy Spirit’s movement here at NCU. There’s a deep love for learning while at the same time a passion for Jesus! I love our students’ diversity, grit, flexibility, ingenuity, heart for God, and desire to be change agents in their spheres of influence.”

Our Christian Community
Staying rooted in faith and committed to following Christ as you deal with everyday challenges is easier if you have support, guidance, and friendship. The relationships you form at NCU — with peers, residence hall leaders, professors, staff, and neighbors — will provide you with the community you need as you grow in your faith.
Build Friendships at a Christian University
The best way to learn something new about your relationship with God can be to challenge yourself in your faith, and to receive empathy and encouragement in fellowship with friends. You’ll make plenty of friends at NCU — from classmates, residence hall neighbors, and people you meet in student organizations, intramural sports, and as you participate in service opportunities and the arts. As you get involved, you’ll meet more people to build a big, loving network of friends that you can laugh with and confide in.
Become a Mentor or Mentee
Each floor in the residence halls has a resident advisor (RA) and a team of discipleship leaders who work with the RA to encourage community on the floor and lead weekly LifeCore small group meetings.
Connect With Expert Faculty Mentors
The professors at North Central are an important part of the spiritual support system we have on campus. Even if you have a concern or question that may seem out of the scope of the classroom, our professors are ready and available to help guide you and mentor you in any way they can.
