FAQs
How do I check into my residence hall?
All students will begin the check-in process in the Trask Word and Worship Center Atrium. Once you have completed the check-in process, our student leaders will assist you in receiving your keys and moving into your room.
What should I bring?
Wondering what you should bring with you when you move to North Central campus? Here’s a Residence Hall Checklist (pdf).
Can I move into my room before the first day of Welcome Week?
All incoming students may move into their housing assignment on the first day of Welcome Week. If you are involved in athletics or another co-curricular activity that requires you to be on campus before this date, you will be contacted by the appropriate department for those arrangements.
Do I need to attend all of the sessions?
Yes! Welcome Week is designed to help you start strong at NCU. In addition to learning about important policies and tips for student success, the welcome sessions will also give you important opportunities to connect with other incoming students.
Parents: Should they come or not?
Yes! Parents or other family members are welcome and should plan on being with you during the entire check-in process if they are available.
When should commuter students arrive?
All commuter students will be able to check in on the first day of Welcome Week. We recommend you arrive in time so that you can attend the various activities and sessions planned for the day and evening.
Commuters are required to attend all applicable orientation sessions and activities:
- All Group Activities
- All Information Sessions
See the Welcome Week daily schedule for more details.
Following check-in, commuters are welcome to use the commuter lounges on the first floor of Miller Hall and on the bridge between T.J. Jones Library and Carlson Hall. Any commuter student who is unable to check in at the designated time should contact the One Stop office to discuss alternative check-in options.
