About:

After obtaining her M.S.W., Beth worked as a licensed social work therapist at a rural community mental health center in Indiana.  She provided individual, family and group therapy services to children, adolescents and their families in a variety of community settings.  She spent her first year primarily working with juvenile offenders and incarcerated juvenile immigrants who were awaiting residency or deportation orders.

After that first year, she provided outpatient counseling services for students with a variety of mental health diagnoses, and those involved in the foster-care system.  She enjoyed collaborating with multiple agencies and service providers through her work with a wraparound program.

During the last two years as a mental health therapist, Beth enjoyed working with older adolescents/young adults with chronic mental illness.

In addition to her clinical experiences, Beth served as a youth pastor at an Assemblies of God church for about 10 years. She is excited to be back in Minneapolis and feels privileged to have the opportunity to share her passion for social work with the students at NCU.
