Position Purpose
The Accounts Payable Lead is responsible to maintain the vendor records and process payment of university bills.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Accounts Payable
- Prepare accounts payable checks in a timely manner to ensure proper payment of invoices and check requests.
- Match invoices with corresponding purchase orders.
- Enter data to record invoice, check requests and expense reports.
- Obtain authorization to process payment for invoices not having signatures.
- Select, print, sort and distribute checks.
- File paid invoices.
- Review daily and monthly reports to ensure all work is done correctly and accurately.
- Print weekly check register.
- Verify check register and monthly reports which detail entries.
- Maintain annual alphabetical vendor files.
- Review statements and communicate with vendors and employees to obtain information and ensure prompt payment of outstanding invoices.
- Report 1099 taxable income to recipient and government agencies to comply with Federal regulations and process financial aid funds requests.
- Order, print and distribute forms in accordance with government deadlines.
- File required reports as needed.
- Order and process financial aid funds consistent with notification from NCU’s Financial Aid Office.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to maintain composure to deal professionally with external and internal customers.
- Ability to communicate verbally to ensure payments are made in a timely fashion.
- Knowledge of computer programs including Windows, Excel, Word, and various other computer applications.
- Skill in use of 10-key adding machine.
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds to manage office supplies and storage materials.
Environmental Conditions:
- 80% of work can be done remotely on the individual’s own schedule
- Position involves repetitive motion of the fingers, hands and wrists on a daily basis.
- Work environment involves working in an urban, Christ-centered University.
Tools and Equipment:
- Position requires use of a PC, 10-key calculator, and telephone approximately 80% of the time.
