Position Purpose

The Associate Director of Recruitment assists with the general oversight of the Admissions Office to accomplish the goal of recruiting and enrolling students to NCU. This position will provide leadership and management for key operations in the Admissions Office through leading the recruitment team and overseeing the campus visit program. This position will manage professional staff and students in these areas. They will also coordinate training for new staff and development for current staff to ensure continual improvement.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

(40%) Oversee the Recruitment Team

  • Assist in hiring, training, and day to day oversight of the recruitment team
  • Facilitate weekly meetings with all admissions counselors to discuss metrics, goals, questions, etc.
  • Lead the weekly Admissions Counselor meeting
  • Work with the Lead Admissions Counselor and Director of Admissions to plan, schedule, and coordinate all travel for the purpose of undergraduate recruitment
  • Work with the Lead Admissions Counselor to hire, train, and coordinate the work of the student recruiter team.
  • Manage all timecards, time off requests, schedules, etc. of the recruitment team.

(25%) Manage and oversee the strategy for the campus visit program, guest experience, visit events, and the admissions front office.

  • Hire, train, and manage the Campus Visit Coordinator and provide continuous leadership over the campus visit program and guest experience
  • Hire, train, and manage all student admissions representatives and overnight hosts
  • Oversee the programming for campus visits and the campus visit event calendar

(10%) Recruit International Students

  • Full cycle recruitment of international students
  • Act as a Designated School Official (DSO) in SEVIS
  • Learn and stay up to date with current government and NCU international student regulations
  • Manage internal and governmental systems relating to international students

(15%) Serve on the Admissions Leadership Team

  • Serve as a member of the Admissions Leadership Team
  • Provide leadership and training to the Admissions Office staff to maximize performance and day-to-day operations
  • Provide overall direction to personnel about tasks that need to be accomplished and prioritization of duties throughout the year
  • Analyze overall current activities of personnel and seek opportunities for internal improvement
  • Coordinate the training of new staff as guided by the Director of Admissions
  • Aid with office management through motivating employees, assigning projects and verifying that tasks are completed thoroughly and in a timely manner
  • Assist the Director of Admissions with department oversight and strategic decisions
  • Manage the ongoing operations of the Admissions Office in absence of the Director of Admissions

(5%) Represent Admissions through university committees

  • Serve on multiple committees as a representative of the Admissions Office or in place of the Director of Admissions
  • Examples of potential committees: Graduation Planning Committee, Welcome Week Committee, Title IX Committee, ActSix Committee, etc.

(5%) Other duties as assigned

Job Qualifications: 

Minimum education and experience

  • A Bachelor’s Degree is required.
  • Must have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and must be willing to live within the lifestyle statement of the University.
  • Operational management experience strongly preferred.

  • Excellent communication skills, both one –on- one and in front of larger groups
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Understands the North Central community, including the spiritual atmosphere, campus living, organizations and ministries, majors and curriculum and the opportunities of the Twin Cities area
  • Thoroughly understands admissions strategy and procedures
  • Knowledgeable about university policies and processes
  • Ability to be self-motivated and self-managed to meet deadlines
  • Ability to lead and direct various projects
  • Possess effective leadership and managerial skills to oversee student volunteers
  • Work involves collaboration with a team of other admissions personnel in an office setting
  • Requires working independently in a fast-paced environment and adapting to a variety of roles with multiple demands
  • Understands the culture of the Assemblies of God

Working Conditions and Frequency:

Equipment and Tools

Use of a PC and telephone, photocopier and facsimile machine approximately 90% of the workday

Environmental Conditions

Exposure to repetitive motion of the fingers, hands and wrists on a daily basis
