Position Purpose

The Compassion Outreach Graduate Assistant at North Central University serves as a member of the NCU academics department. The individual will be a member of the NCU academic staff in connection to Global Studies working in concert with Student Life and Spiritual Life departments. This position emphasizes NCU’s commitment to community transformation via presence, care, and action. The GA will facilitate outreach opportunities with local ecclesial and compassion organizations to execute the overall mission and vision of NCU. Such work will enhance the overall connection of an NCU student to their surrounding community.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

The following information is not meant to be all-inclusive. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned as necessary.

  • Assist the directors of Student and Spiritual life in connection to Global Studies
  • Support faculty in various fields: including assisting in event planning, event execution, external relations, class management, organizing ideas, etc.
  • Other responsibilities may include participating in department meetings, committees, and official University functions when appropriate
  • Other Duties as assigned

Job Qualifications

Minimum Education and experience

  • A Bachelor’s Degree is required.
  • Must have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and must be willing to live within the lifestyle statement of the University.
  • Must be accepted into the one of the Graduate programs at North Central

Knowledge, skills, and abilities

  • Maintain a personal relationship with Jesus Christ
  • Ability to communicate the mission and vision of North Central University
  • Project management capabilities
  • Time management
  • Initiating of projects
  • Ability to maintain a flexible schedule, working weekends and evenings
  • The ability to work in a team setting and work effectively with a variety of audiences and departments demonstrated leadership abilities
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task and prioritize
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to pass the background check upon hire and periodically throughout the course of employment
  • Valid driver’s license

Additional Details

  • This position is a one-year position with the candidate pursuing a graduate degree from North Central University. It includes tuition remission, room, and a food stipend for on-campus dining. Anticipated start date: January 1st, 2024.
