Position purpose
The Work Study in Liechty Hall is responsible for supporting and assisting faculty, administrative assistant, the program coordinator, and deans in Liechty Hall with various administrative needs to ensure completion of tasks and departmental efficiency.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to
(60%) Provide administrative support to Liechty faculty and deans to ensure accurate and timely completion of work
- Make copies for faculty, proofread/send out mail for faculty, gather classroom supplies
- Prepare and distribute information to students regarding department events, faculty communication, and university events
- Proctor and conduct make-up examinations for students in accordance with university guidelines
- Organize and sort faculty mail, maintain adequate office supplies
(15%) Assist with event prep for the College of Business and Technology
- Assist with setting up, organizing materials for chapels and other events
- Assist with prep of quarterly Christian Business Breakfast (including guest experience and media), may attend events to set up and help host if needed
- Support annual COBAT Mixer and coordinate volunteers, assist with advertising event through email and social media
- Communicate basic information to students: notifications of class cancellation, providing directions to students on faculty members’ behalf
(15%) Miscellaneous tasks in Liechty Hall, provide friendly and helpful service to students and members of the community needing assistance
- Communicate with students, parents, and guests via telephone, email, or in person, under the guidance of the administrative assistant
- Keep Liechty Hall up to date with timely and accurate NCU and department information for students/faculty/guests
- Assist in maintaining cleanliness and appearance of building, including gathering recycling, ensuring plants are watered weekly, and organizing public spaces (lobbies, conference room, copy room)
(10%) Other project-based tasks as directed by the Deans, Administrative Assistant, or Program Coordinator
Required qualifications/skills
- Currently enrolled student at NCU
- Competent in knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and basic design skills to organize presentation materials
- Ability to keyboard with accuracy at a speed of 50 wpm to complete work in a timely manner; lift and move up to 30 pounds to manage office supplies and storage material
- Excellent communication and follow-up abilities, both verbally and in writing to ensure shared understanding of information
- Ability to prioritize/organize incoming tasks and manage time efficiently
- Ability to maintain composure to deal with faculty and students professionally and effectively; interact with and respond to many different personality types

- Must qualify for work study
- Hiring timeline: candidates will be interviewed within the first 3 weeks of the Fall semester
- Hours/week: (combined hours of COBAT/CGPE)
- Time: flexible
