Position Purpose

The Online & Graduate Admissions Counselor recruits and coordinates university efforts to enroll qualified new students and assists in coordinating student services efforts throughout the campus.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

(75%) Recruit students to the online and graduate programs including key university partners

  • Meet weekly goals for communication numbers
  • Coordinate and manage communication plan for each student
  • Interview prospective students
  • Conduct financial planning calls
  • Work directly with financial aid to ensure students are awarded and packaged
  • Manage admissions funnel including applications, acceptance, and confirmed
  • Ensure superior customer services to partners, students, and internal constituents
  • Report enrollment numbers to Executive Director of Admissions
  • Review applications for admission and make acceptance decisions
  • Represent North Central in various capacities outside of the University for the purpose of recruitment

 (15%) Represent online/graduate admissions to external constituents

  • Represent the online and graduate programs to prospective students via virtual open house events
  • Travel to conferences and events to recruit new students
  • Organize and coordinate new events for the purpose of recruitment

(10%) Other duties as assigned

Minimum Education and experience

  • Bachelor degree required
  • Admissions or sales experience preferred

Knowledge, skills, and abilities

  • Ability to deal with a variety of individuals with poise and professionalism.
  • Ability to be self-motivated and able to function without direct supervision.
  • Ability to plan and execute activities with attention to detail.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Ability to travel to represent the school as needed.
  • Ability to communicate well verbally and in written form.
  • Ability to demonstrate problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of computer programming, software, and use of programs.
  • Knowledge of marketing trends and tools.

Working conditions and frequency

Environmental Conditions

  • Position involves exposure to repetitive motion of the fingers, hands and wrists on a daily basis.
  • Work environment involves working in an urban, Christ-centered university.

Equipment and Tools

  • Use of a PC and telephone — approximately 50% of the workday
