Position purpose

The Student Worker position is responsible to support the administrative personnel in the Registrar’s Office in providing excellent customer service at the front desk along with the processing of the students’ academic records in accordance with privacy laws and university policies.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to

  • Provide timely and professional customer service to incoming office traffic, telephones and Registrar emails
  • Resolve routine customer service issues, routing complicated issues to the appropriate Registrar staff member as needed
  • Process document requests and communicate with requests as needed regarding transcripts, syllabi, enrollment verification’s and diplomas
  • Sort and deliver mail to appropriate personnel in Registrar’s Office
  • Assist in processing student-related forms and petitions in a timely fashion, communicating with students and faculty as needed
  • Assist with transfer credit processes and degree clearance reviews
  • Assist with degree completion reviews, including microfiche file reviews when necessary
  • Generate transcripts from microfiche student records
  • Responsible for file audit as part of document retention processes
  • Pulling inactive files from current student files, preparing & scanning files
  • Assistance with special projects and events throughout academic year such as the Grad Expo & Commencement
  • Assist with special projects, testing and training related to Colleague implementation

Required qualifications/skills

  • Currently enrolled student at NCU
  • Minimum sophomore standing
  • Minimum 3.00 GPA
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong problem solving skills, great attention to detail and self-starter
  • Ability to maintain composure to communicate effectively with office staff, students & other constituents
  • Office experience with programs such as Microsoft Word and Excel necessary
  • Ability to type, error-free, to complete work in a timely manner
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion – violations of privacy laws will result in immediate termination

Additional comments

  • Hours/week: 10-12 hours/week
  • Time: between office hours of 8am – 4:30pm
