Position Purpose
This position is responsible for overseeing the programming, development, and conduct of female Residence Hall students, as well as providing support to the Residence Life & Student Conduct program for the holistic development of students.
Description
Oversee programming for Residence Hall students and groups:
- Foster a positive Residence Hall community by being involved and visible in the residence hall and investing in the lives of students.
- Supervise a team of student leaders including an Assistant Resident Director (ARD), Resident Advisors (RAs), a Discipleship Administrator (DA), and Discipleship Leaders (DL’s).
- Participate in selection, training and evaluation of student staff.
- Conduct a weekly team meeting and bi-weekly individual meetings with staff members.
- Develop relationships and respond to the individual needs of students within the Residence Hall. This includes crisis intervention, student conduct, and student care.
- Rotate on-call, emergency response duties with other Resident Directors.
- Work with professional staff and student staff to develop and implement programming that fulfills Residence Life Mission and Student Learning Outcomes.
- Develop a Residence Hall environment conducive to spiritual, emotional, and intellectual growth.
- Assist with specialized trainings at the beginning of each semester for residence life student leaders and also student engagement leaders.
- Serve as the primary conduct officer for the living area including meetings, assignments, and follow up.
Assist in Student Development Division-wide efforts:
- Attend bi-weekly one-on-one meetings with the Dean of Students.
- Attend weekly Residence Life staff meetings.
- Attend and assist with Student Development programming throughout the year.
Administrative Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain student housing records, conduct and care information, and a residence hall budget.
- Oversee the residence hall check-in and check-out procedures including the assessment of damages to the residence hall rooms.
- Assist with chapel conduct.
Job Qualifications:
Minimum Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree is required; Master’s degree is preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Demonstrated Christian character and servant leadership.
- Commitment to University mission and statement of faith.
- Ability to work in supervisory, collegial, and/or mentoring relationships with others, including staff, faculty, and students.
- Knowledge of, and ability to fully use, technological resources including a wide variety of computer programs and applications.
- Residence Life knowledge and experience is preferred.
- Ability to handle confidential information .
- Ability to communicate and follow up verbally and in writing to ensure shared understanding of accurate information.
- Ability to deal with conflict resolution in a professional manner.
- Ability to coordinate multiple projects and conflicting priorities to accomplish tasks efficiently and accurately.
- Ability to work as a member of a team and independently.
- Skill and ability to input data accurately and efficiently.
- Ability to lift up to 20 pounds, reach, and lift above the head.

Environmental Conditions
- This is a live-in position and requires availability during non-traditional business hours. Work environment involves dealing with matters of sensitive and confidential nature as well as dealing with conflict and other potentially difficult situations.
