Questions and answers about the virtual Run for the Unreached

When is the event?

After registration, you may participate any time you like, but we would love for you to join the community experience via check-in at 10:00 a.m. CST on April 9, 2022. After a 30-minute check-in time with a missionary, participants will start the run.

How far do we need to run or walk?

The onsite Run/Walk is a 5K, but this virtual run option is completely flexible. The distance is completely up to you.

Where can you run or walk for the unreached?

The simple answer is wherever you want. Please do follow the government rules of your location. Most states are allowing people to walk in their neighborhoods for exercise. You can also walk on a treadmill or stairclimber, up and down a driveway, around your house, etc.

When is the latest date for registration?

April 9 is the last day to register. If you want to wear your t-shirt during the run/walk, you need to register sooner than later. But regardless of when you register, you will receive a t-shirt and book in the mail as a memory and resource for you.

Can I be a part of the Zoom check-ins even if I cannot run/walk at that time?

Yes, as long as you are registered for the event, you can participate in the Zoom check-ins at 10:00 a.m. CST on April 9. You will receive a link for these check-ins after you register.

How do I access the podcasts?

The podcasts featuring missionaries talking about their areas of the world will be located on iTunes, Spotify, and Google Podcasts under the name The Antioch Initiative. The podcasts that have been made specifically for the run will have “Run for the Unreached” at the beginning of their titles. You can listen to them as you run/walk or whenever you like.

What is the last day I can register and still get my t-shirt before the run?

That will depend on the postal system, but the earlier you register, the more sure you can be that the materials will arrive. Please register soon here.

After the run where should I post pictures?

On the Antioch Initiative’s Facebook and/or Instagram pages using hashtag #run4unreached2022.

Why is the cost so low?

We have generous sponsors who are helping us offset some of the costs of the run. There is also an option to give more to increase the offering for participating missionaries.

May I use the event to raise money for Speed the Light or a missions trip?

Yes! Please feel free to raise money via this event, but you are responsible to raise your donors and keep track of the funds you raise.

Do I have to wear the run t-shirt during the event?

No, but it would be nice for posting via social media.

What happens with the registration money?

Registration funds are used to pay for the expenses of the event. Any remaining funds after expenses will be distributed to participating missionaries among the unreached.
