Diversity Action Council

The Diversity Action Council (DAC) at North Central University exists to pursue the goals outlined in our Diversity and Equity Aspiration Statement. The DAC meets on a monthly basis to discuss updates, progress, and planning.

The DAC is made up of five specialized sub-committees comprised of staff and faculty which convene on a regular basis:

Education

Role at North Central

Desirée Libengood joined our faculty at North Central University in 2010. She attended North Central as a student, earning her bachelors degree in English literature and creative writing. She went on to earn her masters degree in English and the University of St. Thomas. While there, she worked in the Center for Writing as a graduate mentor, and she also worked at Wellstone International High School for newcomer immigrant and refugee high school students.

Following this, she began teaching at Crown College and North Central University. She holds an Ed.D in higher education leadership and administration from Bethel University. She has done research on diversity in Christian higher education and has presented at a number of national conferences on this research.

Desirée lives with her husband, Lance, and their five children in Eden Prairie.

Role at North Central

Joshua Edmon joined our staff at North Central University in 2020. He serves as Dean of Multicultural Development and Spiritual Life. He holds two master’s degrees, in Urban Ministry and Theological Studies, both from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Deerfield, Illinois. He has served in higher education as an admissions counselor at Trinity International University and as an Educational Outreach Specialist with the TRIO program at Joliet Junior College. In addition to these vocational roles, Joshua has served in a variety of pastoral positions, serving as a church campus pastor, a worship pastor, and missions pastor with a focus on church planting. Joshua is married to Sameka and has two children, Skylar and Zachary. They reside in Minneapolis, MN.
