ABOUT:

Pauline Ballentine began as Director/Assistant Professor of the Carlstrom ASL-Interpreting Department at North Central University in January 2011.  Formerly, Mrs. Ballentine was an outreach specialist with the Gallaudet University Regional Center at Northern Essex Community College.  Pauline holds a Master of Arts degree in Organizational Leadership from Regent University.  She is also a Certified Deaf Interpreter with the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf. Currently, she serves as an interviewer and rater for the Sign Language Proficiency Interview (SLPI: ASL) for the Division of Special Education in Minnesota.  Formerly, Pauline was an instructor for national mission workshops and training programs, specifically: Reading to Deaf Children: Learning from Deaf Adults and Leading from Behind: Language Experience in Action.  In her spare time, Ballentine enjoys being the wife to her Deaf husband and mother of three Deaf children; watching sports, especially when her children are playing; reading; and cooking.
